Heartbroken mum recalls final moments with baby 'thrown off bridge into river' A heartbroken mum has revealed the final moments of her tragic baby who died after he was allegedly thrown off a bridge into a river in Greater Manchester. Emma Blood shared an emotional post on Facebook as police probe the death of her son Zakari Bennett. Zakari was just about to celebrate his first birthday next month when he was reportedly hurled from a bridge into the River Irwell in Radcliffe. The mum wrote on Facebook the family "sat with him for hours" after she rushed to A&E to be with her child. In the heartbreaking post Emma said she did not know anything happened until 7pm. Emma said she only realised her son was dead when she arrived at hospital. She then "sat with him for hours, held him and kissed him". Heartbreakingly, she added: " I am alive, although I wish I was dead instead." "Let me grieve for my child, my whole world and so much more," Emma wrote. Emma also hit out at vile trolls who are speculating about the death of Zakari and sharing horrible comments on social media. She wrote: "Rotten people shut your f***ing mouth with your shitty gossip you silly c***s because you was not there. "You didn’t see a thing and you certainly did not see me there. "Why wasn’t you at home with your kids instead of gossiping about my baby boy?" Emma had excitedly announced he pregnancy back in February last year, describing her and the baby's dad as "over the moon". After her first scan, she wrote: "Today we seen our little baba who has a very strong heartbeat, healthy and is perfect in every single way. "Mummy and daddy love you always our little cherub. "The past ten weeks have flown by it won't be long until we meet you in person." And after his birth, Emma added: "He's just so perfect and so good. He was worth every bit of pain. We love you Zakari." Concerned well-wishers have also set up a JustGiving page to raise funds to pay for Zak's funeral. "Today sadly a local little boy was thrown in the River Irwell. "This evening he has passed away and we would like as a community to raise money towards his funeral." And as of 10am, it has raised nearly £1,900 for the family. Police were called to reports that a child was in the River Irwell in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester, shortly before 4.25pm on Wednesday. The boy was recovered from the water by firefighters who attended the scene near to Blackburn Street along with other emergency services. A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning, said Greater Manchester Police. It is understood police are treating the matter as a domestic incident. Detective Superintendent Jamie Daniels said: "This is an incredibly tragic incident that has led to an innocent baby boy losing his life and we are doing everything we can to support his family at this unimaginably devastating time. "I know his loss will be felt by the entire community and our thoughts are very much with his loved ones this evening. "A murder investig
