We ended up covering quite a bit of water looking for those staging areas the largemouth tend to gather in early fall. We ended up finding them in typical ambush spots near weed lines, but not in the numbers we would have liked. Once we found moving water, in the form of creeks coming into the lake, we found where the fish were really stacking up. We were able to put a ton of fish in the boat in just a few hours.
The producing baits were:
Black and blue chatterbait, 1/2 oz.
3/8 oz Dirty Jigs finesse jig
Texas rigged pumpkin tube, 1/4 oz bullet sinker
3/8 oz spinnerbait with smoke grub instead of a skirt
3/8 oz spinnerbait in black and purple
