Song of the Day by Styles Dangerfield
I'm working on improving my song writing. All aspects of it really. My strumming, song structure and lyrics ideas. My version of Song of the Day is to write a song everyday for as long as I can ( 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, 100 years?). Since I have other things to do with my life I decided I can take 1/2 hour a day to write a song. That's 10 minutes for chords, 10 minutes for melody and 10 minutes for lyrics. One of the problems I have with song writing is, every time I sit down to do it, I am trying to write the best song in the world. By giving myself 1/2 hour I can be pretty sure it will not be the best. There is a lot of freedom in setting out with that expectation. I allow myself to try crazy ideas and to sing about whatever I want.
