WHAT IS FIBER? ARE YOU GETTING ENOUGH? Fiber is a carbohydrate that does not digest in the body. What is does is slow down digestion and allows you to absorb the nutrients from food. Eating foods high in fiber gives you a more full feeling after a meal without consuming to many calories. The more full you are the less you’ll eat throughout the day, the less food you eat…well you know the rest. That’s why it’s more beneficial to eat the skins of potatoes or apples because that’s where the fiber source comes from.
