Fortunately, there are cards out there that can help you. Certain minions and spells provide you with additional resources. These can be given as a battlecry, deathrattle or an effect triggered by certain conditions and are often from a narrowed down pool of cards. Choosing one from a selection of three via the discover mechanic gives you the highest chance of getting what you want, but it often comes with an increased mana cost in the case of a spell or subpar stats for minions. While you hope to get the exact card you need for the situation that prompted you to go digging for solutions beyond your deck, you’re far more likely to get something middling in value and effectiveness.
A smattering of these cards in a deck can make it more versatile, but what if you took the idea of getting extra cards from your cards to the extreme? What if every card you played gave you other cards, ensuring that your hand will never run out and you’ll always have choices, albeit random ones? Can that overcome a deck full of cards tailored to victory?
