I'm GIVING AWAY my channel for 7 DAYS!?? SUBMIT HERE:
If you plan to enter, please make sure to carefully read the terms and conditions of entry!
You can submit multiple times, but it's only possible to win 1 of the 7 spots on the channel, and every entry must abide by the terms and conditions, so you might be best putting more effort into a single entry, and put the rest of your time into building your own channel and content.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
one of the biggest hesitations people might have in entering this is the idea that they aren't "professional" enough, so let's knock that one on the head. This competition is about creativity and ambition, but will certainly be understanding of small budgets and production setups! With that said, you can actually get a really great result with simple equipment, so below are some suggestions for hardware and software for people a little hesitant:

FILMING GEAR: DSLR's are great, but even a decent webcam will do the trick. Most people have mobile phones, and they usually have brilliant cameras already, and even editing software!

AUDIO: Good sound is pivotal to a good viewing experience. I recommend filming with a few audio capture sources so you can pick which one is best. If you don't have dedicated microphones (like a vlogging Rode shotgun or Lav), again, your phone can be great! Keep it near you when you're speaking or even use it as an additional microphone with an audio recording device even if you're filming with a different camera! USB microphones can be a great option too. - A Pro tip is to make sure your voice sounds crisp in post-production. To do this, music editing programs have something called 'compression' which you can apply to the voice track to make sure it's balanced and strong. You can also just manually bring the volume to a clear level with volume sliders. Try and balance voice and music as best you can.

MUSIC: You MUST use music from either the YouTube royalty free music library ( or the EpidemicSound catalog ( - I have a subscription to epidemic so any music used from there is A-OK for the video's that go up on my channel. Use only music form the above to keep it simple for me please - no exceptions.

LIGHTING: Something not a lot of starting creators think about but good lighting can make a big difference to how watchable your video is, even if you're face isn't in the video, whatever the activity is, make sure it's clearly visible and well lit. You don't even need pro lights, bring in a lamp or two, make sure the lights are on and you're positioned well in the room to capture the light, and tweak your cameras settings to make the most of the environment you're filming in.

EDITING and SOFTWARE:
I highly recommend using DaVinci Resolve - it's 100% FREE and can render everything up to 4k and beyond and has amazing features! It's on Mac and PC - get it here:
If Resolve is too complex for you or you're used to another program, you are of course welcome to use whatever editing software you choose, just make sure your submission has NO watermarks and is at least HD resolution if possible.
If you want to edit on your mobile, I use KineMaster all the time (small fee to remove the watermark), it's a really great mobile editing program. You can also use Adobe Rush for mobile, or any other number of free or paid mobile editing programs.
