No end to political impasse, Maharashtra placed under President's rule With no end in sight to the political impasse in Maharashtra, President's rule was imposed in the state on Tuesday evening. The Union Cabinet earlier in the day had recommended President's rule in the state. Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari in its report to Centre had said that it has been 15 days since the conclusion of the electoral process and none of the political parties were in the position to form a govt. He said that all efforts have been made to form a government but he saw no probability that a stable government could be formed.
