Coronavirus outbreak: 'Presumptive case' of virus confirmed in Toronto Ontario's health minister Christine Elliott and chief medical officer of health, Dr. David Williams, announced on Saturday that there was "presumptive case" of coronavirus confirmed in Toronto.

They said the man returned from Wuhan, China - a city at the centre of the outbreak - and felt ill shortly after his return on Jan. 22. He was quarantined in hospital in Toronto on Jan. 23.

Officials said the risk to the public was still low and it's believed contact with others was minimal.

It is believed to be the first "presumptive" confirmed case in Canada.
