Do you sometimes feel like you just can’t win? In this video men’s style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM AaronMarino Pete & Pedro Tiege Hanley ENEMY says sometimes you do your best to take care of yourself to find out that some of those things are actually not good for you.
You may think these are healthy — but they’re NOT!
Lunch meat sandwiches — deli meat is processed and packed with tons of sodium and nitrates
Diet sodas –the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reports that men who drink one diet drink per day have a 40% increased risk of prostate cancer. Further, the artificial sweetener tricks your body into thinking it’s actually sweet, and your body releases insulin in response. This spikes the storage of fat. Diet drinks can increase the risk of heart attack and stroke.
Bottled water — plastic from the bottle can leach into the water depending on the type of plastic the bottle is made from.
Working out too much — you can get injuries as well as tired. Your body needs time to heal and recover or cortisol levels will go sky high.
Over washing your face — if you’re suffering from breakouts or oily skin, don’t wash more than the typical 2xs a day. It will actually increase the amount of oil. Just make sure to use a high quality face wash.
Detoxes and colon cleansers — they can be dangerous! Eat a diet rich in fiber and complex carbs.
Fad diets — instead of a fad diet, balance and moderation is the key.
