Committee of Supply debate: Environment and Water Resources Ministry to focus on food security

Food security will be a focus for the Environment and Water Resources Ministry at the 2020 Committee of Supply debate. Minister Masagos Zulkifli said this in Parliament on Feb 3, in response to a question about the impact of Australia's bushfires on Singapore. Singapore's food supply from Australia, which includes milk and meat, has remained steady despite the fires. Mr Masagos said Singapore has been diversifying its food sources, intensifying local food production, and encouraging companies to grow overseas.
