We Turned Off The Superbowl Halftime Show

Yes. We did. We didn't expound too much in the vlog, but as Christians...we felt conviction entering "the world" instead of setting ourselves apart from it in this way. Just because its yearly, just because it's normal and everyone else is watching...doesn't mean we have to. We both feel very strongly that this halftime show affected BOTH of our sin struggles in ways we weren't comfortable with, as well as could possibly be a trigger for the people in our home. And we are responsible for what happens in our home. This is not about the women, or the lack of support there...we think it's awesome that the ladies are in such great shape and have such strong work ethics. And we don't know the state of their heart so we cannot hold them to the standard in which we hold ourselves.

Romans 12:2 "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."

You might also say that we are judging...but here is what we think about that. The Bible actually calls us to be there for our fellow man to help them and hold them accountable. Proverbs 27:17, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens the face his neighbor,”...

Matthew 7:3-5 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye." Well, we can't remove the plank if we are indulging, therefore it's best to remove ourselves from the situation completely.
