Chinese respiratory disease expert: Clinical drug trials for COVID-19 going smoothly

Over the past two months, clinical trials on drugs for COVID-19 have been underway in Wuhan, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak. Chinese experts hope drugs shown to be effective against the virus in the test tube, will also work well on human patients.

CGTN conducted a one-on-one interview with Dr. Cao Bin, an expert in respiratory infections at Beijing's China-Japan Friendship Hospital. Dr. Cao is now leading the clinical trials of drugs with possible positive effects on COVID-19 in Wuhan. He told CGTN that the clinical trials are going smoothly. #Coronavirus
