In the 1990s, we had an affordable housing crisis. As it has continued, we now have a chronic problem in many parts of the US. Solutions require understanding and addressing the structural conditions that perpetuate this problem including growing income inequality, housing costs outpacing wage increases, and a more precarious workforce.
