12,000 firms benefit from government schemes after hiring older workers

About 12,000 employers, which hired over nine in 10 workers above the age of 50, benefited from government schemes in 2018. According to the Manpower Ministry (MOM), the rate of training of older workers -- those aged 50 to 64 -- had also risen, from 25 per cent in 2014 to 40 per cent in 2018.
