Apparatus: The apparatus of Jaeger's Method consists of a wolf's bottle which has two opening, one is fitted with a dropping funnel through a stopping cork and the other is fitted with a tube ABCD . In tube ABCD at B a manometer is fitted which contains a liquid of very low density and the difference in liquid levels in the limbs is measured with the help of scale as shown in the vedio.
The end CD of the tube ABCD is of the form of a fine capillary tube which is dipped in a liquid whose surface tension is to be determined.
As it is dipped in the liquid so some arises in the tube CD ,where the shape of minscus is hemispherical.

The radius of the opening at D is determined with the help of travelling microscope.
The bubble at end D forms at an interval of 10 seconds,so we will get different readings.
