Assam Minister of State for Urban Development and Health & Family welfare, Pijush Hazarika who went to inaugurate an amusement park at the historical Gandhi Bagh Park in Silchar on Thursday was greeted with black flags and massive protests by over hundreds. The protest was led by former Congress MP Sushmita Dev along with many non-governmental organisations who blocked the roads and showed placards with various slogans on it.
Despite the strong protest from sections of society, Pijush Hazarika laid the foundation stone for proposed Amusement Park at Silchar Gandhibagh.
