Imphal (Manipur), Aug 30 (ANI): A man quitted his job to plant different species of plants and bamboo in Manipur’s Imphal. Moirangthem Loiya has replanted Punshilok forest in Langol hill-range in 17 years. Loiya hails from Uripok Khaidem Leikai in Imphal West. His story is an inspiration for all given how much flora and fauna he has saved single-handedly. While speaking to ANI said, “Today, forest area covers 300 acres. Around 250 species of plants and 25 species of bamboo grow here and its home to a variety of birds, snakes and wild animals.” Meanwhile, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest in Manipur Kereilhouvi Angami said, “We appreciate his efforts. We welcome all those who protect the environment and are engaged in reforestation.” “We would encourage other people to also take part in protection, revival and re-forestation of forests,” he added. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
