African civil society organisations have decried the lukewarm support that their governments have accorded the African Union Advisory board on Corruption. From failure to report their progress in implementing the Convention on preventing and combating corruption, to a lack of resources, the board says it faces numerous challenges as it seeks to lend its support to the continent's fight against corruption. The Non-Governmental Organisations are now demanding more political commitment at the presidential level to end graft and repatriate stolen assets back to the continent. They spoke earlier in Kigali on the sidelines of the African Union dialogue on corruption.
