SEC401 is a very broad reaching course, and if you're very new to security as a whole, that might be the thing to do. But if you know you're going into a Security Operations Center (SOC) position, I would say the more directly applicable course would be SEC450. In that class, we're talking about a specific job role, how to do it and what we're going to be using.
