A man in a Perodua Myvi was pursued through downtown KL by members of the public after he was seen assaulting and robbing a disabled person at Jalan Changkat, Kuala Lumpur, on Friday, December 13. In the 4.50pm incident, the 25-year-old suspect was seen by several witnesses manhandling the disabled man and carrying out a snatch theft. He then jumped into his car in a bid to escape.
But several witnesses on motorcycles gave chase, shouting at the man to surrender.
A hot pursuit followed, with the suspect tearing through several roads, including Jalan Pudu, and sideswiping or ramming into five cars stuck in traffic along the route.
However, the suspect was finally caught in a traffic jam at Jalan Brunei Utara and was forcibly removed from the car by his pursuers at 5.20pm.
