๐ด [Description]:
Army medical Soldiers conducted a mass casualty exercise at Fort Hunter Liggett, California. The 528th Hospital Center Soldiers were assessed on their abilities inside the stressful simulation. Relying on fellow medical personnel to assist when necessary was crucial to performance and the care and well being of their patients inside the hospital center.
US Army Medical Command will support the exercise through the professional fillers (PROFIS) system, providing approximately 100 medical professionals from fifteen installations across the continental United States.
The hospital center consists of 48 intensive care beds and 100 intermediate care ward beds. Medical services include: surgery, dental pharmacy, lab/blood, radiology and computerized tomography.
This mass casualty exercise is part of an overall Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise.
The EDRE allows the units to train on the following tasks in an expeditionary environment: conduct expeditionary deployment operations, manage health service support, and manage hospitalization.
