I made it to the place to meet my friend. I felt a bit sick as I drove into the car park, but it was empty so I was happy, as usually 'The Bridge' is a busy place, as they do one of the best carvery's in the local area, also their food from the menu is too die for. Part of what they call 'Exposure Therapy' is to take small steps in going out. Usually when a person is very nervous a technician will just walk them to their front gate, down the street. I usually have issues being on my own. Part of why I feel this way, might be I was on my own when the incidents happened to me in my life, so I feel safer on a one to one basis. However too many people, or if the place is too busy, I do start to get uncomfortable.
I carry smelling oils with me and a vape. I hardly use the vape as I don't want to start smoking again, however the smelling oils are amazing at easing the nerves if it gets too much.
The only issue now, is it takes so much to hold myself together, I am fully exhausted now. I am hoping this means and early night and a good nights sleep.
When a person suffers from any kind of mental health issue, even the smallest of tasks can be exhausting and tiring. Accept it. Part of recovery is acceptance. Just go with the flow. If someone is negative towards you, do not hang out with them. Stay away from people that tend to upset you or bring you down, until you are on the right platform to cope.
