King cobra snake makes 'popping' sound as it sheds old skin in stunning close-up footage

A snake enthusiast has shared the moment his prized king cobra's skin 'popped' off.

The unknown snake lover, from somewhere in north America and with the Instagram username #pacinthesink, filmed the venomous snake as he slithered out of his old layer of skin.

Loud popping noises were captured by the camera's microphone as the skin separated from a fresh layer underneath.

The short video showed the snake, named Jafar, as he moved across the wood chips on the bottom of his crate.
