The month of Rajab is one of the sacred months as mentioned in Surah Al Tawbah ayah 36,
“Verily, the number of months with Allaah is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allaah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are Sacred (i.e. the 1st, the 7th, the 11th and the 12th months of the Islamic calendar). That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein”
Allah is AlAleem and he has favoured some months over others. Ramadan is one of the sacred months and its importance is mentioned in Quran as well in Ahadeeth. But we do not find any ayah or hadith indicating any particular virtue regarding worship, qiyaam or fasting in the month of Rajab.
Besides fasting in the month of Ramadan, a Muslim can voluntarily fast on Mondays and Thursdays and ayam al beed 13, 14, 15th of every month.
