As per a new report, India came out with three Billionaires every month. In just the last year, Asia's third largest economy minted out a total of 34 billionaires.
With this, India jumped two spots up this year. The top two countries are China and the U.S. according to Hurun Global Rich List 2020.
In total, there are 138 ultra-rich. When including Indian-origin billionaires, the figure rises to 170.
That compares with 799 and 626 billionaires in China and the U.S., respectively — the top two spots that together make half of the billionaires in the world.
This is a rather shocking revelation as India is currently undergoing it's worst economic slowdown in the past decade.
Apparently, the slowdown seems to have no effect on Indian billionaires, which is why the country ranked in the top three in the world.
