The average Australian voter is “likely to forgive” the government if fails to deliver a surplus this year due to a slew of unforeseen circumstances, according to 2GB broadcaster Luke Grant. The government has flagged it is unlikely to deliver its promised budget surplus due to the impact of the bushfires, the drought and the fallout from the coronavirus.
Mr Grant told Sky News “average people” will think it’s “fair enough” that the government couldn’t deliver on its promise.
